Finished season one of Babylon 5. Oh Damn. Need more.
Finished The Dresden Files all the way through Small Favor. Oh damn. Need more. Jim Butcher is BRILLIANT.
Started the Twilight series quarter of the way through the first book. I did not expect myself to enjoy the fluff, and the fluff I enjoy. It just proves that every now and then I do enjoy a fluffy little romance involving vampires. Grr argh. Fangs! Evil!
As much as I enjoy my nancy vamps on occasion, I really enjoy the flip side vamp. The one that is actually evil and just kills people. Its why I enjoy 30 Days of Night and Salem's lot. Its nice that at least the medium and genre doesn't forget that occasionally instead of being the romantic interest they are and can be in fact cold, calculating monsters. However, the reason I like 30 Days of Night has nothing to do with the vamps and more to do with the fact for the first time in history of... EVER that the HUMANS do the RIGHT thing. Granted they still get turned into a manwich, but it makes me happy. So I enjoy. Yes. Yes I do.
Tom Jones should be lending me the second season of B5. I will devour it. Love it. Call in George and high pitched noises should follow that only dolpins understand. I just love it. Its so in-depth. Not in the brain meet pipe cleaner way that lost and seems fringe is. (Love Fringe, wish it would ditch the formula they have going right now. I know they will.. but eh) But there is just so many layers. I'm continiously impressed with how they manager to portray entire civilizations in dissary with each other simply by the interaction fo their ambassadors, or even trouble on earth just by a clever use of the news. The entire allegories they set up with religion make my brain ache with glee. It gets the creative juices flowing.
All this geekery makes me want to write more. Which I'm working on. Need to actually feel okay showing work to other people. Working on it. Nyar.
Got some of my muse on, trying to relearn paint shop pro as laptop is kinda made of fail in the graphics department but am tugging along like the brave little toaster. TOASTER OF BRAVENESS.
Also, as a side note nothing is more fun than having a fake accent off. Bostonian versus the New Yorker! News at 11!
