So Vampire Diaries is awful. But I'm going to read it and watch the show, because I have horrible issues. At least I can admit its cheesy goodness? Sometimes you just need some cheese to go with your wine. (Wine of course being True Blood. That show, really, never ceases to amaze me. I love me some True Blood).


for those who are new here, I'm from massachusetts. I used to go to Salem on a regular occasion every year to visit and see the history. So when a character offhandly says "oh I'm a psychic I'm related to a witch from salem" it kind of makes me furious. None of the women who were burned in Salem as witches, were witches. They were people that these hysterical girls pointed at under the influence of their parents for LAND. Not witches. The only one that comes close t her being related to a "witch" would be Tituba the slave from Barbados. If thats where they ar egoing then whatever, I guess it will be fine. I just don't like witch = psychic = salem. Bothers me

The "ooh, creepy fog is creepy" really bugged. Not sure if I like the brother, tho' I kinda enjoy his enjoyment in fucking with people. Definitely not as annoyed with Elena as I am with Bella, but then again I didn't read a book that gave me every tedious thought she had.

She said that someone else told her she must be psychic because her ancestors were from Salem and there were witches there. I figured that was just an attempt to demonstrate typical adolescent stupidity and that it was supposed to be funny. Beyond that, I actually liked some of the characters and I'm a bit intrigued about the nature of the brotherly feud and the possibly reincarnated long lost love. I'm gonna stick with it, for now at least.

from someone who had to read way too much about that particular town (as well as read the crucible way too many times) there really weren't. At least not at the time of the witch hunt. I know its not going to be a big deal and I'll probably enjoy the show just fine. (I haven't read the books yet, but I'm told Bonnie is supposed to be Irish and have this back story that involves why she has her powers. But cant always keep everything. ^_^)
